Two options likely to happen if Nadal fails to win 2013 Roland Garros AND loses to Djokovic.

1. His career will begin to falter - in a hurry. It's the most devastating one-two punch: Losing the parrot that houses his life - at the hands of his nemesis. Remember last time it happened on grass to someone and what reaction it evoked? Difference? Knees, hard courts, track record.....

This will be the rationale: If I cannot beat Djokovic on clay, at Roland Garros, in a five set format, after winning nearly everything preceding it, with Djokovic out of commission for a while with ankle problem........how can I bring myself to believe I can do that on hard courts - Djokovic's favorite surface - with Murray as added force to contend with.

2. I have to now compensate for the Roland Garros loss at surfaces not called red to make Djokovic pay for robbing me of No. 8. The determination to win on grass and hard courts will spike exponentially compared to if Nadal bags Roland Garros over Djokovic. Remember what happened when Nadal bageled Andujar in the first set @ 2013 Madrid? Next set was won by just one 'bare' break @ 6-4. Same principle. Sometimes it's safer to not awaken the sleeping giant. Heck, anybody - as EVERYONE houses a giant within. It's just a matter of the hitting the sweet spot.
