System were sloppy against Fulham, claims Wenger - GiveMeFootball.com

His relief have been expressed by arsenal manager Arsene Wenger after his side noted a 1-0 win away at Fulham - but mentioned fortune was on their side. A Per Mertesacker header, right before the half-time break, was enough to offer the Gunners a much-needed win whilst the large German transformed a Laurent Koscielny header. The target came after Fulham midfielder Steve Sidwell was sent off for a challenge on Spaniard Mikel Arteta after just 12 minutes of the overall game getting underway at Craven Cottage. Sidwell had in reality just come back from suspension after he was sent off during their victory over Queens Park Rangers a couple weeks before. The game then ended with yet another sending down as Arsenal's Olivier Giroud noticed red for a late tackle in the same way the game entered stoppage time. The Arsenal boss admitted that it absolutely was a large effect, but also admits they rode their fortune at time as a victory wasn't merited by their second half performance. However, he was packed with encouragement for the first-half performance that found Arsenal keep get a handle on of the ball and the match generally speaking. Sky Sports were told by "of course for us after the draw against Everton it was important to take the three points," Wenger. "It was a positive first-half, but also for some reason, and I really do not know why, our game in the second-half ruined and our passing became sloppy, and we played with less speed in our game and Fulham you've to offer them credit - they're a great side and they tried like crazy and they played very well today." The Frenchman believes his side didn't adapt well once Fulham transpired to 10-men, and he believes the overall game really got harder for his player once Sidwell got sent down. "It became hard, and in the second-half specially I do believe we used a hand-brake," he said. "We only desired to keep consitently the cause without taking any chance and not enough transmission and each time a group is down seriously to ten-men they focus on defending serious and they defended well and we didn't provide them with enough issues today." Wenger continued to speak with journalists from Sky Sports and he mentioned that both red cards should stand which will now mean Giroud will skip three of the last four games, and Wenger thinks this will be a concern for the side. "Unfortunately yes we've to discover a solution up-front for the ultimate games, but that may happen and we've to deal with it," he said. "The result is the main point now, but the easiest way to obtain the result is still to perform well but I do believe as we didn't wish to be exposed the nerves played a part in the second-half and our fluency was lost by us. "We have often had hard activities here and last season was lost here by us - but to ensure that is an excellent sign this season was won by us. Seem at Everton losing today, everything was given by both teams and you might feel some participants were tired."
